Panamex
Pacific is a significant exporter of consumer goods throughout
the Pacific Islands. Established in 1987 as a private company, Panamex
was acquired by Campbell Brothers Limited in 1999.
Panamex has built its business through the development of
products and brands, tailored to the requirements of Pacific Island
consumers. The first product was "Sudso" laundry powder,
and the range has now expanded to include branded soap products
such as "Max" and "Flora", "Three Cooks"
instant noodles and cooking oil, "Zap" mosquito coils,
"Five Star" canned mackerel, "Soft Baby" disposable
diapers, "Freshh" toothpaste and toothbrushes and "Paradise"
matches, to name just a few. Panamex works with a number of manufacturers
throughout Asia to have products made to market requirements and
packaged under our own brands.
In addition to our own brands and products, Panamex also represent
some major New Zealand, Australian and Asian companies. These agencies
include "Heinz", "Wattie's" canned and frozen
goods, "Tip Top" ice cream; "ABC" batteries,
and "Softlove" disposable diapers.
We have established business relationships, and regularly visit
all major markets throughout the Pacific.
Papua New Guinea is our largest market of operation. Here,
in addition to selling the Panamex range of products, we also have
a manufacturing operation, producing safety matches, laundry and
beauty soaps, laundry powder packing and operating a bottling line
for cooking oil.
The other markets where Panamex has a strong presence include:
- Western Samoa,
- American Samoa,
- Fiji,
- Kingdom of Tonga,
- Cook Islands,
- French Polynesia,
- New Caledonia,
- Guam Saipan,
- Federated States of Micronesia,
- Solomon Islands,
- Vanuatu and
- Norfolk Island.
Panamex also has an office in San Francisco, representing
a variety of American companies and exporting into the Pacific Islands.
This operation also has special expertise in the sourcing and supply
of high specification food ingredients and flavourings, and exports
these items throughout the world.
Collectively, Panamex personnel have over 100 years of experience
working the Pacific Islands. We have personnel fluent in French,
Hindi, Pidgin and Chinese. Throughout the Pacific and in our operations
and offices in Papua New Guinea, San Francisco and
New Zealand, Panamex employs in excess of 200 people.
